  2. This story may well have been debunked, but sadly, whether it be 450 at once or 450 one at a time, Islam and its repugnant verses both condone marriage to child brides and also the consummation.

If people are willing to believe this story, then it is because it so easily believable.

  4. What am I on about?

Whether or not this is a true story is irrelevant, it is a FACT that Muslims marry and have sex with children,as condoned by the example of Mohammed in the abhorrently repugnant Koran.

This story, even if untrue, is believable none the less as it is quite possible it could happen.

  6. VIII. MOHAMMED THE PEDOPHILE

Pedophilia as Muslim orthodoxy? In speaking of divorce:

"And for such of your women as despair of menstruation, if ye doubt, their period (of waiting) shall be three months along with those who have it not. And for those with child, their period shall be till they bring forth their burden. And whosoever keepeth his duty to Allah, He maketh his course easy for him" (Qur'an 65:4).

Why? Because Allah ordained it, and his apostle practiced it.

On Mohammed's raping of his nine-year-old "wife":

"My mother came to me while I was being swung on a swing between two branches and got me down. My nurse took over and wiped my face with some water and started leading me. When I was at the door she stopped so I could catch my breath. I was brought in while Muhammad was sitting on a bed in our house. My mother made me sit on his lap. The other men and women got up and left. The Prophet consummated his marriage with me in my house when I was nine years old” (Tabari 9:131).

"Narrated 'Aisha [Mohammed's six-year-old "bride" and nine-year-old sexual "partner"]: 'Allah's Apostle said (to me), "You were shown to me twice in (my) dream [before I married you]. Behold, a man was carrying you in a silken piece of cloth and said to me, 'She is your wife, so uncover her,' and behold, it was you. I would then say (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.'"'" (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 87, Number 139 and 140).

"Narrated Aisha: The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became alright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, "Best wishes and Allah's Blessing and a good luck." Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah's Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age" (Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234).

"A'isha . . . reported: Allah's Apostle . . . married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old" (Muslim Book 8, Number 3310).

"Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death)" (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 and 65).

  7. What a load of rubbish. Even though you were taken in by a false story, rather than admit your idiocy and racism, you argue that it 'easy to beleive' because of what a 7th century alledged prophet allegedly did to his alledged child bride.
If that's your reasoning then take a look at other parts of the world in the 7th century. CHild brides were the norm including for the kings of England.

  8. I'm happy to admit I'm an idiot, if I have been an idiot, and I'm also quite happy to admit to being racist, if I have been racist, but please, if your your going to mount an argument, then at-least have the decency to make one that's intelligent and logically sound.

Firstly, Islam is not a race, its a political ideology, a particularly nasty political ideology, but none the less, a political ideology just the same.

Secondly, I was not taken in by anything, merely presenting the facts as they lay. If the people that practice Islam also practice paedophilia, as their prophet did, then that is merely an observable fact and has nothing what so over to do with what ever I happen to believe.

Finally, I did not argue that it 'easy to beleive' because of what a 7th century alledged prophet allegedly did to his alledged child bride.

Once again, so that you might be able to verify what I argued, I'll paste it here below for your reading pleasure..

And further to add to that, it is widely acknowledged that Muslims do indeed marry off their children to grown men. This fact is undeniable.

  10. Dave, for one of my classes at the university, I am doing a research paper on child brides. When I had began the paper, I had started it on mail-order brides, but I began coming across more and more child bride stories. After digging into all the information, almost ALL of the countries that participate in this practice are Muslim. What happens to these children is pitiful. After many of these young girls are married, they are beaten, raped which causes fistula and then abandoned. Many times the husband brings AIDS home to his bride. When he does, the bride is the one forced to leave because the man is in denial. Many of these girls die during childbirth because their bodies are just not developed yet.

  11. Good on you for taking the time and effort to find out the truth about Islam and also write paper on it. You are a true crusader for the virtues of liberty and freedom, something the God of Islam knows nothing about.

See, already you are greater than Allah, you understand the need to protect liberty and freedom, while Allah does not.

  12. Child brides a sad reality in the Islamic world.

Top Yemeni clerics oppose ban on child brides

Some of Yemen's most influential Islamic leaders, including one the U.S. says mentored Osama bin Laden, have declared supporters of a ban on child brides to be apostates.

The religious decree, issued Sunday, deeply imperils efforts to salvage legislation that would make it illegal for those under the age of 17 to marry.

The practice is widespread in Yemen and has been particularly hard to discourage in part because of the country's gripping poverty — bride-prices in the hundreds of dollars are especially difficult for poor families to pass up.

More than a quarter of Yemen's females marry before age 15, according to a report last year by the Social Affairs Ministry. Tribal custom also plays a role, including the belief that a young bride can be shaped into an obedient wife, bear more children and be kept away from temptation.

A February 2009 law set the minimum age for marriage at 17, but it was repealed and sent back to parliament's constitutional committee for review after some lawmakers called it un-Islamic. The committee is expected to make a final decision on the legislation next month.

Some of the clerics who signed Sunday's decree sit on the committee.

The group behind the declaration also includes Yemen's most influential cleric, Sheik Abdul-Majid al-Zindani, whom the United States has branded a spiritual mentor of bin Laden. Al-Zindani denies being a member of al-Qaida.

In a further challenge to the rights groups pushing for a ban, government officials are reluctant to challenge al-Zindani and other conservative tribal and religious figures whose support they need to hold onto power in the fragile nation.

The religious leaders organized a protest against the legislation on Sunday by a group of women. Hidden behind black face veils and robes, the women carried signs that read "Yes to the Islamic rights of women."

"I was married at 15 and have many children now," said one of the women, Umm Abdul-Rahman. "And I will marry my daughter at the same age if I decide she is ready for it."

The issue of Yemen's child brides vaulted into the headlines three years ago when an 8-year-old girl boldly went by herself to a courtroom and demanded a judge dissolve her marriage to a man in his 30s. She eventually won a divorce, and legislators began looking at ways to curb the practice.

In September, a 12-year-old Yemeni child-bride died after struggling for three days in labor to give birth, a local human rights organization said.

A rights group pushing for a ban planned a protest for Tuesday.

"The government has two options: to give girls in Yemen a chance at life or to condemn them to a death sentence," said Amal Basha, chairwoman of the group, Sisters Arab Forum in Yemen.

Yemen once set 15 as the minimum age for marriage, but parliament annulled that law in the 1990s, saying parents should decide when a daughter marries.
