Does the UK need mass immigration? - an article

http://www.civitas.org.uk/pdf/cs23.pdf

The same author, Anthony Browne, has written a number of good articles on immigration (I've linked to some below).

Britain is losing Britain

Some truths about immigration

The folly of mass immigration

This extract from the last article is particularly good:

"The People Flow authors make a mistake common among pro-immigration advocates: seeing a nation as nothing more than a geographical entity with a functioning economy and a legal system. But a nation is first and foremost its people. It is the French people that define what France is, not lines on a map.

The pro-immigrationists are effectively trying to abolish nationhood, denying a country the right to sustain its own culture.

*snip*

If current trends continue, the historically indigenous population of Britain will become a minority by around 2100. Islam is the fastest growing religion, and much immigration to Britain comes from Muslims fleeing Muslim lands – around 75% of intercontinental asylum seekers are Muslim. But where are the limits? In an extreme example, would British Christians have a right not to live in an Islamic majority state?

For an answer to this, consider what that most liberal of American writers, Gore Vidal, said in a lecture in Dublin in 1999:

“A characteristic of our present chaos is the dramatic migration of tribes. They are on the move from east to west, from south to north. Liberal tradition requires that borders must always be open to those in search of safety or even the pursuit of happiness. But now with so many millions of people on the move, even the great-hearted are becoming edgy. Norway is large enough and empty enough to take in 40 to 50 million homeless Bengalis. If the Norwegians say that, all in all, they would rather not take them in, is this to be considered racism? I think not. It is simply self-preservation, the first law of species.”

But at what point are people of the west allowed to say that enough is enough, it is time for us to be allowed to preserve our culture? This is an issue of almost total, mind-numbing hypocrisy among western governments and political elites. They defend the inalienable right of other peoples – the Palestinians, Tibetans, native Americans – to defend their culture, but not the right of their own peoples.

It is vital to emphasise that mass immigration and the remarkably intolerant ideology of multiculturalism are exclusively western phenomena. Indeed, the striking thing about the global immigration debate in the west is its determined parochialism. If people in India, China, or Africa were asked whether they have a right to oppose mass immigration on such a scale that it would transform their culture, the answer would be clear. Yet uniquely among the 6 billion people on the planet, westerners – the approximately 800 million in western Europe, North America and Australasia – are expected by the proponents of mass immigration and multiculturalism to abandon any right to define or shape their own society."

The impending immigration disaster begins to hit as Aussies start to lose their jobs

Sydney families forced onto the streets as the recession hits

The Daily Telegraph

May 25, 2009 12:01am

  • Jobless families have nowhere to go
  • Charities say situation is dire
  • Many "two pay cheques away" from streets

THEY'RE the nouveau poor - thousands of ordinary families who have lost their jobs and their homes as the recession begins to bite.

Just a year ago they were living middle class lives with good jobs and in comfortable neighbourhoods.

Now, thousands of families in Sydney are jobless and have nowhere to go - and charities say thousands more are just "two pay cheques" away from a similar fate.

St Vincent de Paul has recorded a six-fold increase in homeless families looking for help, the biggest increase in 120 years.

Sydney's western suburbs have been hardest hit, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Dr Andy Marks, a researcher with St Vincent de Paul, said the most terrifying trend was that working families were now being made homeless.

Nine-year-old brides saved by authorities from being married off in Muslim weddings

British children as young as nine are being forced to marry against their will by their families, campaigners have warned.

Charities supporting victims of forced marriages report growing numbers of young teenagers and children seeking help.

They are urging schools to take tougher action where they suspect pupils are at risk, and to monitor their rolls carefully and raise the alarm when children disappear.

Thousands of Britons - mainly young women from the Asian communities - are thought to be victims of forced marriage each year, but concerns are increasingly focused on the plight of underage girls who are being offered for marriage to foreign men when they have barely left primary school.

No accurate figures exist for the scale of the problem, although the Government's Forced Marriage Unit has helped rescue around 60 children aged 15 or under in the past four years - including 11 so far in 2008 - and experts fear that may represent only the tip of the iceberg.

Typically victims are taken overseas by their families on a false pretext and forced to marry. Extreme cases where women rebel against their family's plans and try to run away have led to so-called 'honour killings' or suicides.

Ministers angered campaigners two years ago by dropping plans to make it a criminal offence to force someone to marry, after Muslim groups objected strongly to the plans.

A charity operating a national helpline on forced marriage, Karma Nirvana, yesterday highlighted one incident where a nine-year-old girl from a Pakistani family in the east Midlands was taken into care after her parents told her she was to be married.

Director Jasvinder Sanghera said that on average one child a week aged under 16 had sought assistance since the helpline launched in April.

'The youngest child we have dealt with was nine years old,' she said. 'The girl told her teacher she was going to be forced to marry someone and initially she was not believed.

'Ultimately, with the help of the Forced Marriage Unit, she was dealt with through child

Eurabia Has A Capital: Rotterdam

Here entire neighborhoods look like the Middle East, women walk around veiled, the mayor is a Muslim, sharia law is applied in the courts and the theaters. An extensive report from the most Islamized city in Europe

by Sandro Magister

ROME, May 19, 2009 – One of the most indisputable results of Benedict XVI's trip to the Holy Land was the improvement in relations with Islam. The three days he spent in Jordan, and then, in Jerusalem, the visit to the Dome of the Mosque, spread an image among the Muslim general public – to an extent never before seen – of a pope as a friend, surrounded by Islamic leaders happy to welcome him and work together with him for the good of the human family.

But just as indisputable is the distance between this image and the harsh reality of the facts. Not only in countries under Muslim regimes, but also where the followers of Mohammed are in the minority, for example in Europe.

In 2002, the scholar Bat Ye'or, a British citizen born in Egypt and a specialist in the history of the Christian and Jewish minorities in Muslim countries – called the "dhimmi" – coined the term "Eurabia" to describe the fate toward which Europe is moving. It is a fate of submission to Islam, of "dhimmitude."

Oriana Fallaci used the word "Eurabia" in her writings, and gave it worldwide resonance. On August 1, 2005, Benedict XVI received Fallaci in a private audience at Castel Gandolfo. She rejected dialogue with Islam; he was in favor of it, and still is. But they agreed – as Fallaci later said – in identifying the "self-hatred" that Europe demonstrates, its spiritual vacuum, its loss of identity, precisely when the immigrants of Islamic faith are increasing within it.

Better late then never ─ An apostate speaks out

......I can not undertake a genocide either, like he committed to Bani quriza, I cant torture a Kinana just to know where the treasures are hidden, I cant kill any Ka’b or Asma for composing poetry criticizing me, I cant consummate (Rape) a Shafia same day after killing his beloved husband and father, I cant consider innocent children and women as booty. I can’t perform Azl with captive women to prevent her pregnancy so that her price does not fall down in slave market. I cannot take 14 wives, many concubines and slave girls to have sex. I cannot cheat my wife (Hafsa) to have sex with slave girl Mariah the Coptic. I cannot sly infidels wherever I find them. I cannot abstain myself taking friends among infidels. And there are many more things for which I cannot follow his holiness footsteps. I don't believe in the myth that “Islam is the religion of Peace or: Islam is a complete code of life” Because, now I know the history of Islam how it multiplied, I witnessed the Taliban regime (an ideal Islamic regime and real Islam in action) and understood the essence of Islamic “complete code” of life theory, completely unmatched with human rights that I have learnt.

I witnessed the Hadith in action when they dealt with women in Afghanistan, forced to leave jobs, hijabified, stoned, lashed and hanged. Bunch of bearded Neanderthals roaming the rocky milieu carrying AK-47, this picture has become a nightmare to me. Not even in my worst dream, I would want to be amongst them, never. I don't want to be dictated by a 7th century cave man in my daily life- how to eat, how to sit, how to sleep, how to sleep with my wife, how to wash private parts, how to walk, how to select proper stone to use after urinating. All of a sudden, I become just too much unholy to accept all these craps.

THE AUSTRALIAN

Desperate for Enlightenment

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21855680-32522,00.html

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the voice of reason and confrontation, is part of a growing movement that seeks to shape the future of Islam, and her message needs to be more widely heard, writes Janet Albrechtsen

June 06, 2007

A Muslim woman must not feel wild, or free, or any of the other emotions and longings ... A Muslim girl does not make her own decisions or seek control. She is trained to be docile. If you are a Muslim girl, you disappear, until there is almost no you inside you. In Islam, becoming an individual is not a necessary development ... You submit; that is the literal meaning of Islam: submission. The goal is to become quiet on the inside, so that you never raise your eyes, not even inside your mind. - Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Infidel

HIRSI Ali makes headlines wherever she goes. In Australia for the Sydney Writers Festival, she provided a finale on a brisk Sunday evening unusual at such events where a heady concoctions of anti-Western sentiments tend to prevail. Hirsi Ali encouraged her audience to espouse their Western values louder than those who espouse Islam. There was, she said, "always an infidel in me" as she grew to detest the submission of free will at the heart of Islam. Dressed in a black dress and knee-high boots, Hirsi Ali glided off the stage just as the polite applause grew more rapturous, with the audience standing to mark their appreciation.

Alas, there were no Muslim women in the audience dressed in hijabs or chadors. Hirsi Ali was preaching, if not to the converted then at least to the curious: those who wanted to catch a glimpse of this tall, beautiful, brave woman, who implored her audience not to abandon the child brides who could be found in the suburbs.

It is just incredible how ignorant these protesters are. What these imbeciles don't seem to be able to comprehend, is that, ironically, they would not have any opportunity under sharia law, to protest about anything, and all the women would be bashed for being uncovered in public.

WORLD WAR I CREATION OF JORDAN

Why was almost 80% of the Mandate territory of Palestine given to Arab Jordan?

The British underwent a change of heart about the establishment of the Palestine Mandate. The reasons were related to political developments that had taken place in the region between 1920 and 1922. The result was that Abdullah, an Arab from the Hejaz (now Saudi Arabia), was abruptly installed as the Emir of Transjordan by the British. In a British memorandum presented to the League of Nations on 16 September 1922, it was declared that the provisions of the Mandate document calling for the establishment of a Jewish national home were not applicable to the territory known as Transjordan (today called Jordan), thereby severing almost 80% of the Mandate land from any possible Jewish Homeland.

The world seems to have plunged into historical amnesia about this. Most people somehow forgot that Arab claims towards Palestine were already satisfied once. It is the Jews and not the Arabs who suffered from the "game" that was played between the Great Powers after World War I. International lawyer David Fromkin described these events in his book A Peace To End All Peace. Fromkin wrote:

  • Britain feared that if Arabs from the territory of British Palestine were to attack the French in Syria, France would retaliate by invading British Palestine.

Thus, Winston Churchill opted for a "Hashemite solution." He decided to "buy off [Prince] Abdullah: to offer him a position in Transjordan." Churchill brought a memorandum to the March, 1921 Cairo Conference, which envisaged:

  • ... establishing a Jewish National Home in Palestine west of the Jordan and a separate Arab entity in Palestine east of the Jordan. Abdullah, if installed in authority in Transjordan, could preside over the creation of such an Arab entity.

Churchill disregarded important objections that "since Transjordan had been included by the League of Nations in the territory of [mandated] Palestine, it was not open to Britain unilaterally to separate it from the rest of Palestine." In order to silence Churchill's opponents, Britain accepted a "compromise concept of Transjordan: while preserving the Arab character of area and administration to treat it as an Arab province or adjunct of Palestine."

It is important to indicate that the British Colonial Office regarded "the administrative separation of Transjordan as a merely provisional measure. It [was] decided not to allow Zionism in Transjordan for the present but also not to bar the door against it for all time." As it often happens, the temporary arrangement "hardened into an enduring political reality and the Arabian prince became a permanent factor of the Palestine Mandatory regime."

Therefore, 76% of the country was given "to an Arab dynasty that was not Palestinian. The newly created province of Transjordan, later to become the independent state of Jordan, gradually drifted into existence as an entity separate from the rest of Palestine; indeed, today it is often forgotten that Jordan was ever part of Palestine."

From the moment of its creation, Transjordan was closed to all Jewish migration and settlement, a clear betrayal of the British promise in the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and a patent contravention of its Mandatory obligations. Britain continued in its role as Mandatory over the whole of the area of the Mandate from 1922, but Jewish hopes of reconstituting the Jewish National Home were thereafter to be limited within the 23% of Palestine west of the Jordan River, an area that includes what is today called the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The League of Nations was dissolved after the conclusion of World War II with the terms of the Mandate still uncompleted, and a new body, the United Nations, was founded on June 26, 1945. Article 80 was specifically placed in the UN Charter to cover Mandates for places like Palestine where the purposes of those Mandates still remained uncompleted at the time of the demise of the League of Nations. Article 80 made it clear that the rights created by the Mandate and the terms of the Mandate were not to be affected.

Palestine continued to be administered by Great Britain under the Mandate until 1946 when Transjordan was granted independence. In one fell swoop, sovereignty in 77% of Palestine had been awarded to the Arabs. On November 29, 1947, the United Nations recommended that both a Jewish State and an Arab State be created in the remainder of the Mandated territory west of the Jordan River, and that Jerusalem be internationalised. Even though this was dramatically favorable to the Arabs and punative to the Zionist Jews, the Jews accepted the proposal. The Arabs rejected it.

Muslim dentist 'humiliated patient by forcing her to wear Islamic headscarf'

This is an old article but it illustrates what I consider the stupidity of Islam and the Islamics' total disregard for our way of life and our freedoms. It illustrates the intolerance Islam has for our western liberty and values, even though these Islmanics come to our great countries to get away from their own oppressive and hostile Islamic countries.

Last updated at 16:28 24 September 2007

A Muslim dentist allegedly 'humiliated' a female patient by forcing her to wear an Islamic headscarf and ordering her to sit in the waiting room.

Omer Butt, 31, told the mum he would refuse to register her as an NHS patient if she did not cover her head, the General Dental Council (GDC) was told.

The woman, who is a non-practising muslim and works as an NHS community nurse, was in so much pain she agreed to borrow a headscarf from a nurse at Butt's clinic in Bury, Lancs, it is said.

But she stormed out of the surgery when Butt quoted Islamic religious texts at her and told her to sit in the waiting room with the headscarf on, the hearing was told.

One of the nurses is said to have warned the young woman - who is being referred to only as Patient A - that 'inside the surgery it is Dr Butt's world and his rules that apply'.

The closed mind of the multiculturalist

Recently SBS showed a program where Emily, a waiter in a small town, expressed some views regarding multiculturalism. Rather then trying to understand Emily’s point of view, she was presented as being naïve and having a small town mentality. More on Emily later.

To people who support multiculturalism, Australian culture is all about diversity, where different races and cultures come together in a united way to form a wonderful society. When this belief of a multicultural utopia is challenged, the default behaviour is to label the challengers as ignorant, racist and small minded…or perhaps just having a small town mentality.

If multiculturalists want understanding for their radical ideas, however, they should first think about doing some understanding themselves.

Trying to get multiculturalists to open their mind and understand different point of view is a challenging task. Let’s start with three simple points that many multiculturalists either are unaware of, or conveniently ignore.

First of all, Australia by world standards in not very multicultural. About 90 percent of Australians are from White/European heritage. If Australia is looking for a country to aspire to in order to become more multicultural, then the United States of America has a white population of 66 percent (which should fall to 46 percent by 2050). However, Australia is not the United States and few would aspire to replicate aspects of their society.

Whilst parts of our larger cities feel multicultural, there are many towns and communities where multiculturalism is just something you hear about on TV or read about in the newspaper.

So the first point that multiculturalists have to understand is that when they talk about a wonderful multicultural society, many people take it with a grain of salt and continue to go about their lives in their non-multicultural towns and communities, as they have done for generations. They don’t care for multiculturalism and they may feel apprehensive about the whole idea of it.

Second of all, there is a modern view that Australia was built on multiculturalism, which is quite obviously incorrect. This view gains currency in the absence of an alternative view being offered. To see how far the view has gained currency one only has to look at government sponsored so-called educational websites such as multiculturalaustralia, run jointly by the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Office of the Board of Studies NSW. This site clearly states in its purpose that “Australia has always been culturally diverse.”

When falsehoods about multiculturalism are presented to children as fact, it becomes a difficult myth to dispel. The fact is that for most of the history of the Australian nation the ‘White Australia’ policy was in place; and that didn’t exactly have cultural diversity at its core.

The founding fathers of Australia created this policy. Australia’s first prime minister, Edmund Barton, when putting the case forward in parliament for national racial unity said “the Commonwealth of Australia shall mean a ‘white Australia’…this Commonwealth shall be established on the firm foundation of unity of race”.

Statements such as these and the subsequent policies that followed show the folly of stating that “Australia has always been culturally diverse.”

The second point that multiculturalists have to understand then is that multiculturalism is a relatively recent phenomenon. You can say that multiculturalism is wonderful, but don’t fabricate history and say that Australia was built on it. Australia has a long and proud history of democracy, equality and social progressiveness, and multiculturalism played no part in this.

The third point that multiculturalists should understand is that some people have concerns about multiculturalism, and that these concerns are legitimate. It is the ‘legitimate’ part that multiculturalists have a problem with. They feel that anyone that questions multiculturalism is wrong before they start; that any arguments are illegitimate.

The truth is that it is not illegitimate to be concerned when the ethnic composition of your neighbourhood changes so radically that you have barely any connection left to the place that you grew up in. It is not illegitimate to be concerned about the effects that ‘white flight’ is having on your community. Is it not illegitimate to be concerned that schools are becoming segregated by race, and finally, it is not illegitimate to be worried by the studies that show that multiculturalism creates a less caring, less trusting and less tolerant society.

So the third point that multiculturalists should understand is that the concerns that ordinary Australians have regarding multiculturalisms are indeed legitimate.

Now, getting back to Emily. Emily was the waiter filmed for an SBS program ‘Inside Australia’ where a girl of Asian descent stops in the country town of Gundagai. There Emily describes playing ’spot the Aussie’ with her boyfriend on a recent trip to Sydney (the waitress and her boyfriend had apparently stayed near an overseas student education institution).

Of course, the girl of Asian descent was Australian and was taken aback by these comments. SBS described the incident as revealing a small town Australian perspective.

And it’s true; it does reveal a small town Australian perspective. Gundagai is a town where cultural events include the ‘Snake Gully’ Horseracing Cup and the ‘Turning Wave’ Festival that celebrates Irish and Celtic migration to Australia.

The 2006 census reveals that over 90 percent of its population was born in Australia with the majority of the remaining from New Zealand, England or Scotland. Gundagai is an iconic Australian town in country NSW where they farm sheep and cattle and grow wheat and maize, and the dog still sits on the tuckerbox. It’s a long way from the big smoke and the problems of Sydney.

When this small town waiter visited Sydney for the first time she went into a totally alien environment. No doubt the editors at SBS headquarters in Sydney felt her comments worthy to show on TV to illustrate just how small minded Australians are.

What it shows me is that SBS is out of touch with the community, and would rather take a cheap shot at a waiter in a small country town than understand where she is coming from.

Emily doesn’t come from a multicultural society. Her town is a place where many years ago indigenous Wiradjuri speaking people lived. It was then settled by British and European settlers.

Its schools would not be promoting ‘cultural diversity and tolerance’ or requiring websites that have a purpose of ‘promoting community harmony’.

There is no need to promote harmony and tolerance when there is no multiculturalism to promote disharmony and intolerance.

If multiculturalists can understand where Emily is coming from, if they can see the great community that she lives in where multiculturalism does not take centre stage and is not held up as the holy grail; then they may be on their way to opening their minds more than they could have imagined.

Winston Churchill on Islam

From The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248 50 (London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899).

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property (either as a child, a wife, or a concubine) must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science (the science against which it had vainly struggled) the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome."

Oh Winston, where for art thou, when we need thee so desperately?

Muslim/Nazi Australia

Here is a good Australian mother teaching her child some great Australian values. What a despicable and vulgar religion/ideology Islam is, utterly disgusting.

This is the sort of thing that our government calls "good for the country" and "multiculturalism".

I think its about time we all stopped putting up with this outrageous and deplorable behaviour. The day Islam is good for the country, is the same day that Australia is no longer a free, western democracy.

Islam is the true Nazism, in my opinion, totally brutal and totally revolting. Stand up for our freedoms and oppose Islam, before it's too late.

The sign above is an example of blatant hate speech. When are we going demand that the Islamic people conform to our democratic freedoms and principals?

Atlas Shrugs: Muslim/Islamist Day Parade NYC 10/12/08

God Islam is disgusting. The more I see of Islam and Islamics, the more I feel the urge to vommit profusely.

There really is no word that can describe how revolting Islam is, there really isn't. It is just the most vile and disgusting ideology on Earth.

International Coalition for Women's Rights

I received this email today. Please, if you feel you have the time or effort, support this cause. I truly believe that if the world is going to change, it will be by a free unified feminine spirit.

Hello

Since our last email, we have been busy organising an International
Coalition for Women's Rights, to which a number of well-known personalities
and organisations have signed up.

As you know, on April 19, 2009, the Somali parliament unanimously endorsed
the introduction of Sharia law across the country. A few days earlier, the
imposition of Sharia law in Pakistan's northwestern Swat region was
approved. Last month, a sweeping law approved by the Afghan parliament and
signed by President Hamid Karzai required Shi'a women to seek their
husband's permission to leave home, and to submit to their sexual demands.
Because of international and national protests the new law is now being
reviewed but only to check its compatibility with Sharia law.

The imposition of Sharia law in the legal codes of Somalia, Pakistan and
Afghanistan brings millions more under the yoke of political Islam.

Local and international pressure and opposition are the only ways to stop
the rise of this regressive movement and defend women's universal rights and
secularism.

>From Iran and Iraq to Britain and Canada, Sharia law is being opposed by a
vast majority who choose 21st century universal values over medievalism.
Join us in supporting this international struggle and calling for:

* the abolition of discriminatory and Sharia laws
* an end to sexual apartheid
* secularism and the separation of religion from the state
* equality between women and men

You can find a list of initial signatories here:
http://www.equalrightsnow-iran.com/discriminatory_laws.html

You can join the International Coalition for Women's Rights by signing here:
http://www.petitiononline.com/ICFWR/petition.html

If you haven't already done so, you can also sign a petition opposing Sharia
law in Britain here:
http://www.onelawforall.org.uk/index.html

We must mobilise across the globe in order to show our opposition to Sharia
law and our support and solidarity for those living under and resisting its
laws.

In the coming months, we will be organising towards mass rallies in various
cities across the globe on November 21. We've chosen this date to mark both
Universal Children's Day (November 20) and the International Day for the
Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25). If you are interested
in helping us organise a rally in your city, please contact us.

And please don't forget we need money to do all that has to be done. And we
have to rely on those who support our work to provide it.

If you are supportive, there are many ways you can raise funds. You can:

* send in a donation - no matter how small
* organise a picnic or cook a dinner for your friends or colleagues and ask
them to contribute to our work
* invite us to speak and raise money for our work at the event
* hold sales or organise a concert or exhibition and donate the proceeds to
us
* ask if your workplace gives donations to employee causes and make an
application.

You can send in your donations via Paypal
(http://www.onelawforall.org.uk/donate.html) or Worldpay
(http://www.ex-muslim.org.uk/indexDonate.html) or make cheques payable to
CEMB or One Law for All and mail them to: BM Box 2387, London WC1N 3XX, UK.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
